North Tide is a large atmospheric seascape inspired by the movement, depth and changing light of open water.
Layers of deep ocean blue, softened turquoise and luminous pale tones move across the canvas, creating the sensation of shifting tides and water continually changing beneath the light. Expressive brushwork brings energy to the surface, while quieter passages create space and a sense of calm.
Rather than depicting a particular coastline, North Tide captures the feeling of looking out across an expansive sea – powerful, immersive and constantly moving.
