Held Light is a large atmospheric original painting exploring the relationship between water, movement and the fleeting quality of light.
Layers of deep blue, softened turquoise and luminous pale tones move across the canvas, creating a sense of depth and shifting water. Expressive marks and fluid passages suggest reflections caught beneath the surface, while areas of light appear to emerge and dissolve within the composition.
Rather than depicting a specific place, Held Light captures a feeling – that moment when light breaks through, catches the surface of the water and briefly transforms everything around it.
